A very “Uncharted” birthday

I might be over a week late with this one, but exams and last minute assignments were calling and taking up all my time. Anyhow, my birthday was the 8th May and my most anticipated game of the year, Uncharted 4, came out two days later (so yes, I was almost happy it got delayed a few times). Being the huge Uncharted fangirl that I am, I got myself the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Collector’s Edition as a present (well, I had it pre-ordered MONTHS ago, but that’s just a detail)!

Since I haven’t posted anything in a very long time and also got a new camera, I wanted to make a small unboxing of the beast that is this CE! No editing has been done, so I already apologize if some photos are a bit too dark or bright. And I really need to find a better place in my room to take better pictures of my unboxings (/へ\*)

When I saw the box in the store, I was surprised by how HUGE it was. I really had trouble carrying it back home… ( ;´Д`)

First thing I immediately had to inspect was of course the Nathan Drake statue. Let’s say that my expectations for it were low, but when I opened the box and discovered the statue for the first time, my mind was blown. It’s not only huge but simply gorgeous. I love all the little details like the wounds on his arms and dirt on his clothes.  As for the pose, it’s simple but fits the character perfectly and the base is also plain but totally acceptable! The way his hair is painted, is the only small thing that bothers me a tiny bit.

Here in comparison, two other Nate figures I own. On the left, the Play Arts Kai figure, on the right, the small statue obtained in the Uncharted 3 Collector’s Edition. So definitely a GIANT upgrade!

The second thing I examined closely is this gorgeous steelbook! I would kill to find a poster of that artwork somewhere. It’s fantastic!

Last but not least, the small art book included in the CE. Those are usually a sample of the big ones, which I have also pre-ordered! A few more codes for downloadable content (multiplayer, PS4 theme) were included in the box as well.

Since owning the game was obviously not enough, I got the collector’s guide for my birthday as well! The cover is very nice but other than that, I don’t really see the “collector” aspect of it. No extra content like artwork inside, which they usually add in collector’s guides. Just a very in-depth guide of the game.

Finally, I also got this beautiful frame from a friend! I already own the Uncharted poster collection, which I still need to frame and put on my walls.

So even if I had to study and didn’t have much time to play the game when it came out, I’m so glad that my birthday this year was Uncharted-themed! Needless to say that I have finally finished my exams AND the game by now, which might be the reason why I’m only publishing this post today… (∗´꒳`)
